The cause of Cold Urticaria is still unknown.  Some rare conditions and disorders can cause cold hives, but the link is still unknown.  The hives are a histamine reaction to cold stimuli.

Some data indicates Cold Urticaria is hereditary and effects persons of all ages and sex. There are more women on record with CU then men.  Most sufferers have underlining immune disorders and allergies.

Our goal is to gain more knowledge about this rare allergy and to one day find the cause and cure.
